I can’t believe we are already more than halfway through September! This month is flying by, but I am looking forward to the fall season and the cooler weather.
Friday I started my training at my new position for the YMCA. I absolutely love getting to talk to the members about their fitness goals and experiences being at the Y. Soon I will start online training courses to be able to teach group fitness classes and be a Certified Personal Trainer 🙂
I have posted my meal plan & workout schedule for the week. One of the meals I will be making is a Tuscan Bean Soup from Dr. Fuhrman’s Eat To Live Recipe Book. I have also decided to add in 20 minutes of HIIT into my workout everyday this week. I want to add more cardio in but limit it to a small amount. HIIT is so beneficial and can really help maintain muscle while increasing fat loss.
Flowers can give an event space or party a special touch and show the hostess’s true personality. All in Good Taste by Kate Spade gives little tips and tricks on how to add charm to any celebration. I decided to combine this part of the book with a fall DIY. Read below to find out how to make both yourself!
I gathered flowers from my mom’s garden….
I bought these mums from a local farm and I absolutely love this color for the fall…
I found both of these containers around the house, the wooden box was from my sister’s wedding!
Here’s a step by step outline of how I added each flower into the vase…
… and the finished bouquet! I’m so happy with how it turned out. I absolutely love all the colors together and it’s so special that they were all found in my mom’s garden.
Some tips from All in Good Taste…
I wanted some simple decor for my office at work and came up with this DIY idea when I was walking through Walmart last Saturday.
I bought all of the supplies at Walmart and it only cost me about $7 to make!
The steps for this DIY are pretty simple. All I did was put two coats of paint on the pumpkin. When that was dry, I outlined the text on the pumpkin with a pencil. I then took the gold paint pen and drew over my pencil outline. *I had a gold Sharpie on hand as well and that seemed to work better than the paint pen I bought. I added some other small pumpkins that I found at Walmart to finish off the look!
Quick Banana Breakfast
Mixed Fruit with Flax Seeds
Salad Loaded with Veggies and White Beans
Whole Wheat Pita with Portobello Mushrooms, Red Onion & Red Pepper
I hope everyone had a great weekend. Sorry this post is a little late, I spent the day yesterday visiting my grandmother. We went to the cutest fall craft fair and my favorite little Italian restaurant where she lives.
I wanted to do a recap of my first week on the Nutritarian diet and some life updates!
I had a great first week and felt like I had so much more energy. By the end of the week I was down 6 lbs on the scale. I followed the vegetarian meal plan and actually liked it a lot. My favorite breakfast so far from this plan is the Quick Banana Breakfast (first pic above). The recipe is oats, blueberries, apple, banana, raisins, walnuts, and flax seeds (I changed it up a little bit). I’m looking forward to week 2 and have already started off strong with my meals today and a tough workout this morning.
And my life update is… that I have started a new job! (still doing marketing & activities coordinating) I’m now a Wellness Coach at my local YMCA. I’m going to begin online training soon so I can teach classes there as well! I’m hoping to be able to teach classes such as bootcamp and maybe even bring barre to my Y!
My weekly meal plan & workout schedule is below! I changed it up a little bit again this week to keep it fun and fit my schedule because it’s going to be a long but fun week!
Happy Friday everyone!
We have made it through the work week, although I do have two more days left. Oh the life of an event planner 🙂 I wanted to share with all of you my work looks this week. There are only two because of my crazy schedule and having only two days of work so far this week, BUT here they are!
Wednesday’s look was pulled together with pieces I already owned and a pair of new slides I purchased this season. I couldn’t wait to finally wear these and figured the first few days of September were perfect to break them out. I’m obsessed with the pearl detail and think they add such a feminine touch!
Thursday’s look is a combo of one of my favorite fall pieces and another I have on repeat all summer. I purchased this black jumpsuit from J.Crew a few years ago and it has become a staple piece in my closet. I can dress it up or down, and for any season. I definitely suggest adding this to your closet if you don’t already own one! I paired the jumpsuit with my fave camo jacket that I also purchased a few years ago. This one is from Old Navy BUT they have one that is almost identical again this year!
Transitioning summer clothes into fall can be kinda difficult especially for us in Upstate New York. Mornings are super cold and then afternoons can be sunny and warm! One of my favorite things to do is see what clothes I can make work in all different seasons. Feel free to message me any time if you have questions on how to transition different pieces in your closet. I would be happy to help 🙂
Woohoo! We’ve made it half way through the week.
I am so excited to share this post with you because it is the start of a series that I’ve been wanting to do for awhile. At the beginning of the summer, I purchased the lifestyle book All in Good Taste by Kate Spade New York. As described on their website, All in Good Taste is “filled with how-tos, personal essays, anecdotes, recipes, and a liberal dash of style, all in good taste will transform you into the hostess everyone wants an invitation from”. The moment I purchased it, I couldn’t wait to dive in.
I decided that I wanted to recreate different parts of the book and share it with all of you right here on All in the Details & Co. If some of you don’t know, I hope to one day own my own event planning/design business possibly running my own venue as well. It’s a dream that I hope to one day make come true.
Anyway! The first part of the book talks about writing a sweet note to the hostess and thanking her for the invite and reminiscing about delicious food, great spirits and good company.
I found these cute thank you notes at Marshalls, they always have the best stationary and for a great price! To address notes, I always opt for a gold metallic pen or sharpie, I think it adds a special touch. Whenever I’m writing a special note, I like to light my favorite candle (birthday cake of course!) and pour some tea or wine, depending on the time of day ;).
This post was so much fun to put together and I’m so happy I could share it with all of you. I can’t wait to see what’s next in All in Good Taste!
I’ve decided to dedicate my first post to fitness and nutrition because that’s how I like to start my week. On Sunday, I typically plan out my meals for the week and the workouts I want to get in. I then go grocery shopping and prep all of my meals for the week and make a heathy dessert to treat myself each night.
